Who We Are

A mediator who is genuinely invested in your outcome.

Joseph Dispute and Mediation Services was built on a straightforward belief — every conflict deserves a fair, structured path to resolution. I am David Joseph, Founder of JDMS and a certified mediator in Maryland, Washington D.C., and Virginia.

Since beginning my work as a mediator, I have supported individuals, families, and community members in resolving conflict with clarity, respect, and purpose. My practice is rooted in community Mediation, complemented by specialized knowledge in divorce, church-related disputes, and workplace Mediations.

My approach is simple: help people move through difficult situations in a constructive and dignified way. Whether you're navigating a personal transition or an organizational conflict, my goal is to provide a transparent, efficient process where every party feels heard — and every session moves toward meaningful resolution.

Questions

Mediation is a confidential and voluntary process where a neutral third party helps individuals or groups resolve disputes through guided conversation. The goal is to improve communication, identify common ground, and work toward mutually acceptable solutions — without the stress or expense of going to court.

Unlike litigation, Mediation keeps you in control of the outcome. It is typically faster, more affordable, and far less adversarial than court proceedings. Rather than winning or losing, Mediation focuses on collaboration, understanding, and solutions both parties can live with.

JDMS provides community Mediation, divorce and separation Mediation, church and faith-based conflict Mediation, and corporate or workplace dispute Mediation. Each case is handled with professionalism, neutrality, and full respect for all participants.

Yes. Mediation sessions are confidential, with limited legal exceptions. This creates a safe environment where participants can speak openly without concern that what's said will later be used against them in court.

Fees vary based on the type and complexity of the case, and are always discussed upfront during your free consultation — before any session begins. There are no hidden fees and no surprises. If cost is a concern, ask us about Square It Saturdays, our free 45-minute community session available every Saturday in the DMV.

No. While Mediation often touches on legal topics — especially in divorce matters — JDMS does not provide legal advice. We strongly encourage all participants to consult with an attorney when legal guidance is needed. Our role is to facilitate communication and resolution, not to provide legal counsel.
